Motion Pictures International Film Festival (MOPIFF) is the first of its kind, a touring film festival set to embrace diverse cultures around the world. The festival is designed to be held in different countries around the world each year, the maiden edition was held in one of the fastest growing cities in Africa, Lagos Nigeria at Clementine Cinemas Lekki Lagos on the 29th to 31st August 2018. MOPIFF accepts all genres of films from filmmakers across the world. The 3days event featured Live film screenings, Workshops, Pool party, Cultural presentation, Exhibitions, Cocktail & Award night.

Rules and Terms
The categories for submission are (A) Feature films, (B) Short films and student shorts, (C) Documentary films (D) Animation films (E) Experimental films (F) Poetry (G) Musical videos
General Eligibility
Unless a special waiver is granted by MOPIFF:
a) Films must have been produced after January 1, of each previous year.
b) Preference is given to films, which are yet to be screened globally or in Africa.
B โ Eligibility by Category
Feature Films: Films must be a work of fiction that equals or exceeds 50 minutes in length and the maximum runtime 150 minutes.
Short Films and Student Films: Films must be a work of fiction that does not exceed 30 minutes in length.
Documentary Films: Films must be a work of non-fiction. The minimum runtime length is 45 minutes and the maximum runtime 150 minutes.
Animation Films: Films must be a work of fiction that does not exceed 120 minutes. For this category
Selection Committee
MOPIFF will solely appoint a selection committee to review submitted features, documentaries, animations and short films. The committee will decide on the official selection to enter the categories in competition.
MOPIFF will solely appoint a jury including members of the international film community to decide on winners for each of the categories in competition.
Deadlines:
Entries must be submitted on or before 30 October, 2025. Any submission and/or material received after the deadline will not be accepted
Submission of Works in Progress:
It is NOT acceptable to submit a working copy of a film. โWork-in-progressโ entries are not allowed. MOPIFF only accepts the final version of films.
STORAGE OF SUBMISSIONS
MOPIFF retains the right to keep all submissions as well as associated materials for its use.
MOPIFF reserves the right to transfer submissions to a master hard drive digital library, building a digital reference archive (โMOPIFF Permanent Digital Libraryโ).
MOPIFF will not theatrically screen for commercial purposes any films without the express written consent of the appropriate rights holder(s).
The Selection Committee will at its own discretion select nominees for each category.
ONLY the selected films with official selection notification emails be sent to by October annually.
MOPIFF will also advise you of further requirements and next steps in said correspondence.
Additional terms:
For the avoidance of doubt, once a film is selected, the submitter will not be able to withdraw the entry.
6. ACKNOWLEDGMENT AND UNDERTAKING
Submission and participation in MOPIFF implies acceptance of the Regulations.
The submitter hereby represents and warrants that he/she holds all rights in and to the film and Material and that he/she has the authority and capacity to submit the film and Material for MOPIFF.
The submitter acknowledges that MOPIFF shall not be held liable or responsible in any manner whatsoever for any loss or damage of whatever type or nature incurred as a result of the submission, acceptance and/or screening of the film and/or Material. Furthermore, the submitter undertakes to indemnify and keep MOPIFF indemnified against all liabilities, claims, demands, actions, costs, damages or loss arising out of the submission, acceptance and/or screening of the film and/or Material.
The submitter also understands and acknowledges that the MOPIFF Submission Information (Form) and the present Regulations form a consolidated and unified document and that therefore the MOPIFF Submission Form shall be considered as incorporated herein by reference.
Censorship
No editorial cuts or changes to any film will be made at any time by MOPIFF for any reason or under any circumstances.
Anti-Piracy Precautions
MOPIFF undertakes to take all possible anti-piracy precautions. All prints and associated copyrighted materials will be securely stored while on MOPIFF premises. Access is limited to MOPIFFโs nominated staff only and all movement of prints will be strictly monitored. No duplication or loaning is permitted and no prints will ever leave the custody and care of MOPIFF or its authorized agents during MOPIFF.
Festival Managementโs Discretion
MOPIFF will decide in its discretion on all issues and matters not foreseen by these Regulations. MOPIFF further retains the right to permit exceptions to the application of these Regulations at any time in its discretion.
Promotional Material
All MOPIFF nominated films and award winners undertake to include, in a clear and visible manner, on the Home Video release of their film (i.e. DVD. Blu Ray, online availabilityโฆ) and on any and all promotional material (including but not limited to posters, banners, EPKโs, websitesโฆ) a specific logo to be provided by MOPIFF.

Student Short, Experimental Film, Poetry and Musical Videos.
Student short films are films created by students, typically as part of their coursework in film schools, universities, or other educational institutions. These projects provide students with practical experience in filmmaking, allowing them to apply the theoretical knowledge they’ve gained in their studies

- Animated Films
Animated films, also known as animation or cartoons, are films that are created using a series of individual drawings, paintings, illustrations, or computer-generated images that are combined to create the illusion of motion. The images are usually displayed at a rapid pace, typically 24 or more frames per second, to create the perception of continuous movement.

- Fiction Feature and Documentary Feature
Fiction feature and Documentary Feature films are full-length narrative films. These films typically have a longer runtime than short films, typically exceeding 60 minutes, and they follow a traditional three-act structure with well-developed characters, a plot, and a resolution.
